You can live with food allergies — and begin to move beyond them!

So, you have food allergies — or maybe your child or your pet does. Sometimes things seem so restrictive, life gets overwhelming. Be encouraged — you can learn to adjust yourself to living with a different way of eating! I have, and I'd like to share with you some of the things I've discovered. It won't always be such a grind!

I was diagnosed with allergies to dairy, wheat, peanuts, and some other foods as a child. The pediatrician told my mother I outgrew them after a few years, but I didn't! Instead, the symptoms changed over time, and some of them became worse.

Now, as an adult, I've had to limit my diet quite a bit while I receive treatment. I've known the frustration of walking down the aisles of a grocery store, in tears because I was unable to find a single packaged food that didn't contain soy!

I'll help you answer questions like:

  • What do I eat NOW?
  • I don't cook — what do I do?
  • Is there a diet that helps people like me?
  • Can I really keep breastfeeding when my baby seems to react to everything I eat?
  • How can I know school will be safe for my allergic child?
  • What options do I have for feeding my pet?
As you acclimate yourself to "living without," you may also be interested to learn that, like all illness, food allergies and food intolerances have a cause. If you can eliminate the cause, you can start to heal! I have, and already I'm beginning to be able to eat many foods I couldn't handle before!

So browse these pages — I want you to find answers! I'm not an expert, and definitely not a replacement for professional medical advice. But check out my sources, read the stories, find a good doctor. Use what you need and leave the rest. I'd love to hear from you if you have questions or suggestions. Enjoy reading!
